Sao Paulo, Feb. 14 (EFE) .- The former Brazilian soccer player José Edmílson, who played four years at Barcelona, said Friday that midfielder Reinier, signed in January by Real Madrid, is a “very good player”, at the same level that Rodrygo Goes, who also plays in the white team.

“Reinier is a very good player, I put him at Rodrygo’s level in terms of training. He is young, but he already played many games last season” with Flamengo, Edmilson said at a LaLiga event in Sao Paulo.

The former player of Barcelona, Villarreal and Zaragoza, among other clubs, said Reinier “is one of the great jewels of Brazilian football, such as Rodrygo and Vinicius.”

The three Brazilians have been hired by Real Madrid in the last two and a half years. Vinicius was the first to join the first template, in 2018.

The following season was Rodrygo’s turn and this year Reinier has arrived, a midfielder who comes from triumphing with the pre-Olympic team, qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and who in the world of football is compared to Kaka for his style of game.

“Reinier for me is a great player, he has everything to make it work. I don’t know personally how his behavior is. Rodrygo (also) is a great player. Of the three, I would bet on Rodrygo because I know his parents and his family,” he said. the world champion in 2002.

However, Edmílson lamented that in recent years only three players have stood out in a country of 210 million inhabitants, such as Brazil.

Therefore, he opted to “continue forming more”, both “on and off the field” because Brazilian football, in his opinion, “has everything to grow in the next five, ten years.”

Edmílson participated this Friday in an event to promote “Bravo!”, An initiative that has brought together hundreds of young people between 16 and 19 from all regions of Brazil and will be broadcast on television through a reality television format.

LaLiga, supported by its ambassadors, including Cafu, Denílson, Zé Roberto, Luís Fabiano and Djalminha, is a key player in this project, as it has taken its methodology and technical team to Brazil to select the most talented teenagers.

After going through several stages, the winning youth group will travel to Spain, where they will perform high-performance training with LaLiga technicians and play matches against Spanish tournament youth.
