Olympique Lyonnais is poised to win a great battle on the transfer market. According to Globo Esporte, Bruno Guimaraes has accepted the offer of the Rhodaniens, and will sign a five-year contract with the Gones. The Brazilian media claims to keep this information from Alexis Malavolta, the player’s agent, and Juninho Pernambucano, OL’s sports director.
While everything seemed to be going well for Jean-Michel Aulas’ club, Atlético de Madrid had entered the dance in recent days. The Colchoneros had an option which enabled them to match the Lyon offer, estimated at 25 million euros. But the player, Juninho’s priority, therefore chose OL at the expense of Atlético.
Bruno Guimaraes is currently playing in the pre-Olympic tournament with the Brazilian U23 selection, of which he is the captain. He should be the third winter OL recruit after Karl Toko Ekambi and Tino Kadewere.
