On November 7, Moscow hosted the presentation of the uniform of the Russian national football team to participate in the 2020 European Championship. The new form is made in red with a white collar, stripes in the colors of the Russian flag are located on the sleeves. Later, the newspaper Sport-Express reported that the football players of the national team, the coaching staff and the leadership of the RFU were unsatisfied with the design and quality of the uniform. According to the newspaper, the main complaint is that the stripes of the Russian flag on the sleeves of T-shirts are arranged in reverse order, resembling the flag of Serbia, and not the Russian Federation.
"We hope that Adidas will meet us and make an exclusive form that everyone will like. I assure that we will do our best so that the team has a form that will suit everyone," Alaev said.
RFU Communications Director Kirill Melnikov emphasized that the submitted form kit was not agreed by the Russian side. “The fact that the presentation was held without coordination is a common mistake, a chain of events. The sketches were of a completely different quality, but in reality it turned out that we were not happy. When we saw the reaction of the media and the fans, we realized that we urgently needed to intervene into the process, "Melnikov said.
